IN THIS COURSE...
Learn how to write, perform and edit your own poems and material. You will be introduced to a variety of poetry forms with live examples given by instructor with 20 years experience. Participants will be shown how to warm up bodies and voices for a reading or stage performance. Instructor will give the secrets to his success as well as individual lessons on voice and articulation. Additionally, instructors will show simple ways to act and perform for different audiences and listeners. Heighten senses through analyzing poetry. Learn memorization skills. Learn how to perform poems. Get basic acting and movement concepts. Relieve stress. Learn how to embody characters and put your poetry to music. Finally, pupils will learn to interpret, analyze and deliver poems and manuscripts for plays and cold readings. |
WRITING PROCESS
(from the page to the stage) During this portion of the course, students will be instructed on the best ways to prepare their material for a show. Furthermore, instructor will share his time-tested personal writing process and performance techniques with students. JOURNALING
In every class students will be encouraged to write and grow their personal journals. This practice is useful for connecting words with inner thoughts, emotions and feelings. Journaling and free writing are useful tools for overcoming writers block opening doors to healing and self-expression. This form of writing is structured to further develop and strengthen each students overall writing muscles. |
