BIOGRAPHYYunus Quddus posses a natural ability to take words and create unique stories, as well as
bring life, energy, and passion to plays and scripts. At the age of 18, Yunus went public with his poetry for the first time at Brave New World in Philadelphia. He set a lifelong goal to be heard and recognized globally. He is the founder and President of Johnson & Wales Performance Poetry Art Club. Yunus has appeared on local radio shows and television shows, including channel 12 in Boston on The Ruff Ruffman Show. He has taught poetry, acting, and performance poetry workshops at the Met Technical Center, Johnson & Wales, RISD, and CCRI. In 2005 he opened for Philadelphia's legendary poet Ursula Rucker and HBO Def Jam Iyeoka Ivie Okoawo for Sound Session 2006. Yunus recently, finished first place at Boston First Night poetry slam and second place in multiple poetry slams at the Lizard Lounge, in Cambridge MA and AS220 in Providence. He practices his craft daily and has performed at every local open mic within Boston and Rhode Island, including all the major Colleges such as Brown University, University Of Rhode Island, Providence College, Yale, RISD (Rhode Island School Of Design, Massachusetts School of Art, and many more Learning Institutions. Currently, Yunus is producing poetry, hip-hop, and acting workshops for Providence Community Libraries. He has also conducted performance art workshops at Qualters Middle School, Community Preparatory School, Providence Center Anchor Learning Academy School, High Lander Charter School, Tiogue Elementary School, and multiple learning facilities around New England and Boston. He challenges young students to create limitless possibilities using words as a means of self-expression. Yunus Quddus is performance artist, a poet, actor, teacher, artist, and storyteller. He has been studying acting and performance for over 5 years, and has been performing in front of people for over 20 years. His new conquest includes plays, commercials, and television. Recently, he performed in two Rhode Island based productions. First, Yes I am The play, which involved poetry and theatrical dialogue, and Community College of Rhode Island's Production Wait Until Dark. Additionally, he has been audition for multiples roles and acquired his first movie role, Fairfield Follies and won the part of Leon in this production. At the same time, he is preparing for the role Pontius Pilate, in the upcoming play The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. This is only the beginning of the story for a man who has dedicating his life to the conquest of performance arts. Yunus Quddus is the complete package for a master of the arts and the stage and continues to grow and strive for perfection to deliver words with reality and passion.
